PlayStation 5 Slim HDMI port replacement
Remove and replace a damaged HDMI connector with hot air, then verify the retimer before reassembly.
Safety first — High risk
Stored capacitor energy, mains-adjacent circuits or hot air work. Discharge, insulate and work with eye protection.
Tools required
- · Hot air station
- · Microscope
- · Solder wick
- · Kapton tape
- · T8 and PH1 drivers
Parts required
- · HDMI 2.1 connector

Diagnostic notes
Inspect the port under magnification first. Bent centre pins can sometimes be straightened; cracked ground shields and lifted pads always mean replacement.

Align the connector to the footprint, tack two corners, then reflow all pins and inspect for bridges.
